This is another of my personal posts so I'll put it under a cut in case you're not interested.  This journal has become more of a mix of personal stuff and sims stuff.  I had a personal journal set up, but deleted it.  It's waaaay too time consuming to keep up all of them.

I'll preface everything by saying freaking LiveJournal is really pissing me off.  It's all well and good that they'll extend my paid subscription, but I'd really, really rather be able to read my f-list once in a while.

Anyhoo, this is what has been keeping me from getting any sort of an update out regarding my sims.  Though I have been able to get a few entries up for the Snap of Life contest at Boolprop.  I'm using Ebony Geebiv and she's been a lot of fun so far.  I may link her snapshots on the Imprismed Dreamwidth journal, once I find some extra time and motivation.

So, with all the attacks at LJ, I popped over to DW to check out things. I've had this journal, and a personal journal, set up for about 2 years. Well, much to my surprise, I realized I had never actually posted anything over here.  Therefore, consider this my first official DW post. Hopefully it won't be my last. Actually, I'm pretty sure it won't be my last because I added my LJ to the overloaded transport queue. I'm not overly concerned about LJ going down for good, but it seemed like a good idea.  I'm thinking I might play around with it a bit and try to set it up to host my latest legacy chapters as well, so if you're getting spammed, I apologize. I'm trying to cross post to LJ too, so we'll see if my limited skills get it right or not.

In other news, I've been on a bit of a shopping spree lately. I'm not a big mall shopper, but was there tonight and picked up some luscious body creme from Bath and Body Works. I've become quite enamored of their Japanese Cherry Blossom scent. I picked up several different lotions actually - they were having a great sale. I have eczema problems and it's really hard to find a lotion that helps. The body creme's there seem to do better than most. I also have to be careful of scent because a lot of them give me allergy fits. I could have spent hundreds of dollars in the Lane Bryant store if I had the money. They had a ton of cute tops, shorts, jackets and dresses out for spring. I also just went through my closet and got rid of a ginormous bag of clothes, so I don't really need anything right now.

I also have been looking for a small backpack to use as a purse through the summer and finally decided on this one from Vera Bradley. It should be here in a few days, and I'm excited about getting it. I wavered about it for several days until my hubby finally said, "just get it!". He tells me that I never buy myself anything. I do, but I always feel guilty about spending the money. Always.

Sadly, I also lost a bracelet somewhere. It was one that my husband gave me for our first Valentine's Day and I wear it daily. I'm hoping it slipped off somewhere in the house and that it will turn up, but it's a little depressing that it's gone for the moment. I'm not a big jewelry person, so every piece I wear has meaning. It's a pretty bracelet too. It's gold and is made of hearts, alternating with a solid heart and an open one.

Hi!  Now that my turn at the BRRL is finished, I have been able to start a new Legacy that I've had in mind for a while.  It is a purely observational legacy infused with what I hope is some humor.

May I present Imprismed: A Legacy of Light

Scribd is being a pain, so I don't have a version for you.

I have created a boolprop thread.  Comments are appreciated here or there, I don't really have a preference.

I've put together a Meta/BTS for  my turn at the Boolpropian Round Robin Legacy.  I’m not quite sure where to begin, so I think I’ll dive right in.

Many words and 43 pictures )
Part 2 will be up soon...

Since it's close to midnight, please forgive me any glaring grammar and/or spelling errors. :)

I was a bit out of pocket last week when there were birthdays, but I wanted to get wishes done and posted.

So, here are a few twins, wishing twins happy birthday!  Hope you guys had great birthdays!!!

Happy Birthday De!

Happy Birthday Casey!

Here I sit, on the morning of March 1, with no posted update.  Nope, I didn't win CreMo.  I'm a bit upset about it, but not overly depressed.  I wanted to finish up my turn at the BRRL, but knew that I would basically have three weeks in the month to do so.  Nevermind that BRRL updates should have been posted every 2 weeks or so and I've had this generation for close to six months now.  I actually debated long and hard about whether to try it at all, and finally decided to participate at the very end.  I'm glad that I only set BRRL as my goal instead of the delusional pace I was thinking of.  Those are projects best saved for later. :-)

The good news is that the final chapter should be done this week.  I have 127 slides written, 90 of them with pictures, so all I have left is three more major scenes before I can send it to proof-reading.  I had a horrible time with this chapter and writer's block.  There is a lot of time covered in the chapter and it was difficult to try to come up with ways to not make it all about birthdays.  I also didn't want to draw it out into two chapters.  Characterization is also one of the parts of storytelling that I find difficult and I kind of did myself in by having so many characters to work with.  I have a clear picture of them all in my mind, but translating that to the story is always hard for me.  I had marathon sessions of playing and writing on Saturday, Sunday and last night, but for some reason, it seems like I got an extra dose of sleepy sand from Mr. Sandman and just could not stay awake.

Anyhoo, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WHO DID WIN!  GREAT JOB!!

This was a great idea and actually really fun and I hope that it continues next year.

Now, if we could institute a cc cull every six months...

Hi All!  Got back from my mini-vacation yesterday evening, exhausted and glad to be home.  I had a wonderful time, but it's always nice to get back to your own bed, you know?

Many words and some pictures... )

So, now I'm back and sims are the furthest thing from my mind.  I'm going to jump right in tomorrow night though.  I've got six days to meet my cremo goal.  I think I'll come close.  My daughter had an orchestra concert tonight so I wasn't able to do any playing, staging or writing.  Might have to play for an hour or so tomorrow to get in the mood.

Hope everyone else is well!

Early, because I'm not sure I'll make it on the interwebs tomorrow.

I finally found a use for the lot you created at Christmas!  YAY!!

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Hope you had a great day!

Lily has been practicing her graphics.  She's still not as good at it as you though.  Hope you had a great birthday!

I have an entry for this week's [livejournal.com profile] sim_scenes prompt, which is Repairs, Panic, Fishing.  I should be working on my [livejournal.com profile] sim_spiration CreMo goal, but this is a happy distraction. :-)

Movies

Went and saw The Eagle last night.  Wasn't my choice, but it was okay.  We had to sit in the second row, so the battle scenes were a little hard to follow and a lot of the picture was distorted unless I could contort my head the right way.  But, I had peanut M&M's, so all was right with the world.  The main characters name is Marcus Flavius Aquila, which of course caused me to think of sims through most of the movie.  There's also a minor character named Cassius.  It might have just been me, but I could see tons of slash coming out of the movie for Marcus and the secondary character Esca.  Some of the serious monologue lines were melodramatic enough to make me LOL too.  Like I said, it was okay, and you get to look at Channing Tatum (I never remember his name right.  Who names their kid Channing?) who is easy on the eyes.

Anyhoo, the flail-worthy thing that I would like to share with all you beautiful people is that THERE WAS A PREVIEW FOR THE NEW JANE EYRE MOVIE!! It's been a long time since I read the book and I will have to get a copy from the library and read it again.  It was probably my favorite book when I read it as a hopelessly romantic teenager way back when.  I had no idea they were making a new movie version.  It looked rather dark and gothic, just as I remember the book being, so I'm really excited to see it.

Of course, I will probably have to wait until a hunting/fishing weekend because I'm sure I will not be able to drag my hubby with me.  You've probably noticed that the majority of movies I talk about are NOT chick flicks.  There is a reason for that. :)

I figure I'm in just under the wire since it's not yet midnight where I am.

Lily and simAnnie Regency-fied themselves to wish you a Happy Birthday!

Hope it was a great day!

So, part of my goals for 2011 were to respond to more [livejournal.com profile] sim_spiration prompts.  I'm a little late for the one I wanted to respond to this week, and even missed the reading day post, so I'm posting here and will link to the original prompt.  Hope you enjoy. :)
